Munich, München, Monaco...di Baviera

Marianischen Kirche
(This post meant to be a simple guide for young and also different kind of people. If you want a good tourist guide, with the history of buildings and churches....you can choose others). Munich is a city located in Bavarian region and it is well known by many Italians because of the Oktober fest...and so good beer. However, those who don’t live there don’t know that there is so much more to discover.

Before getting to that, let me show you some pics of historical buildings.
The station is near the city center therefore when arriving by train and then taking Neuhauserstrasse that countinues in Kaufingerstrasse, you will be able to see Marianischen Kirche.

The carillon
The old Townhall
When you arrive in Marienplatz square, the center and the heart of the city, you will find the Altes Rathaus (old townhall) which has a beautiful and famous carillon in the tower of the New Townhall plays at 11 a.m. and at noon (in the summer also at 5 p.m.).

In my opinion the most beautiful place in Munich is the English Garden, a huge garden that extends over 922 acres and one of the largest urban parks in the world. Inside, there are many bikes and hiking trails, idyllic brooks and several beer gardens turn inside. If you go there you'll find  a small lake, the river Isar and the Chines turm.

Another fun activity you would not commonly hear about in other tourist guides such as Lonley Planet, is to swim in the Isar. Here I'll post a video of a lot of people swimming in this beautiful, COLD and quick flow river. You must be careful, because you can't stop yourself (thanks Andreas) and at the end of the river there is a waterfall where a lot of surfers from different part of the world surf!
Take a look of the videos and enjoy! :)
